Weirdess Spam Ever

"Her wings were ragged bars of lead" comes from a description of Dierdre the Raven's overwhelming fatigue, from the novel "Satyrday". That phrase has stuck with me for 20 years

"A falcon's short wings" is, of course, from "Jonathan Livingston Seagull".
